Bench in Double-walled Garden by Charles Stirton
It’s only the start of April, but already the temperature is a little bit warmer, the days are lighter for longer and the season begins to change from Spring to Summer. I absolutely love this time of year. It’s the time of year when the difficulties of winter, such as the terrible ice and snow, become distant memories and I can really start to look forward to the warmer months.
While having sunny April may not always mean that the next few months will have good weather, I find this time so exciting and uplifting, as it means I can get out into the garden again, do some clearing, planting, and best of all, relaxing on my favorite garden bench.
I love the garden furniture set that I have at home, a very old fashioned and ornate metal table and chairs, but I realise that this option is not for everyone. Wooden garden furniture sets are versatile, lightweight and surprisingly comfortable, but they must, must, must be looked after in order to last. Alas, I have seen too many beautiful benches or garden chairs that have been ravaged by preventable damage from the weather. Furniture stain is very inexpensive compared to the price of a new garden furniture set, so once you’ve found that dream wooden set, make sure that you look after it, or you will have to spend more money replacing it later.
If you want to buy a new furniture set, but don’t know where to start, one great trick I’ve learned is to search for sets online. You can visit the online shops of the popular suppliers, or go somewhere that’s less heard of to get a set that’s truly unique. Try doing a search of Bing images of garden furniture too, as this can lead you to some garden furniture sites that you might not have found otherwise.
