I don’t know how much TheGardenLady’s readers enjoy visiting garden nurseries, but when TheGardenLady visits a really good nursery, she is like a child in a candy store. And when TheGardenLady recently visited
Linden Hill Gardens, she was in garden nursery heaven.  Here one can buy rare and current varieties of perennials and annuals as well as attend complimentary garden talks on special days (listed on their website.)

When one drives up to the entrance of Linden Hill, you pass masses of flowers in the Long Border edging the property on Route 611 and pass a very pretty Bucks County barn. Turning into the Nursery you pass another stunning garden, the Lower Parking-Lot Border. Then you get to the sales area of the nursery where you will pass through more delightful gardens surrounding the charming old buildings.

Walk the grounds and you will see more gardens. One specialty is the Deer Proof Garden that has annual and perennial plants artfully laid out.

The plants for sale are for everyone, from the beginning gardener to the gardener who is looking for specialty plants. And these plants are well marked – you can find tables of plants that deer don’t like, or tables of plants that butterflies like, or tables of plants for the garden connoisseur.

And the help TheGardenLady had was delightful.  Jessica couldn’t be more kind, helpful and knowledgeable.

Not only can you tour the gardens and buy plants,  but when you get tired, you can sit on well placed chairs or benches or lie on a comfortable string hammock in the shade while admiring the surrounding beauty. Besides the plants and plantings, on the grounds there is a pen of the cleanest and sweetest little lambs.

Linden Hill Nursery is owned by Jerry Fritz who heads Garden Design Inc, a landscaping company and is located at 8230 Easton Road in Ottsville, PA.
